Back in 1944 the British War Office was looking for a timepiece to replace the ATP (Army Trade Pattern) watches that had been in use since 1939

but never bettered

Designed and first introduced in the mid-1960s

and unlike many caps of the era which are Japanese

The movement has recently been service and is keeping great time - +/- 30s p/d on a timegraph
