Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a zink backplate with a field grey wool liner indicating Heer issue, the reverse retaining an original paper liner, the shield measuring 53. 08 mm (w) x 61. 31 mm (h), with
