Schwarzburg-Rudolstaft, Principality. A Medal For Merit In War 1914 United Republic of War Merit Cross 1914-18(Silberne Medaille fr Verdienst im Kriege). Instituted 21 August 1914 by Prince Gnther. (1914 1918 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised monogram of Prince Gnther, above a date of 1914, the reverse with a central inscription of VERDIENST IM KRIEGE (MERIT IN WAR), within a laurel wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, unmarked, measuring 38. 95 mm in diameter,
